My passion is both education and fitness. As a special and elementary teacher and certified trainer and instructor, I see where so many teachers are overwhelmed to keep their children focused, happy and busy. So in order to keep with the demands of pressure to teach academic concepts, there is a website that allows teachers to motivate, refocus and get the wiggles out that is available at both home and school. This website is GoNoodle.
This website is fantastic because it allows seasoned and beginning teachers to motivate their students both at the beginning of the day and during the day with both slow, medium and high energy activities to transition during their day.
Go Noodle is a great tool to use as part of your morning routine and a great way to refocus at the beginning of the lesson with a fitness warm up such as Fresh Start or a calming activity such as Think About it or one of the activities such Maximo.
Transitions can be difficult whether you are going to a special or coming back from lunch. Go Noodle is great to use as a transition. I like to do Kids Bop, Moose Tube or a Zumba to get some of the wiggles out before the next academic task.
In many parts of the United States, there are literally months that children are not able to go outside. Go Noodle is a great tool to have kids working off some of their energy. Inside Recess and Fresh Start provide activities that are comparable to a good time running and playing outside at recess. There are also options for activities that range from 5 to 25 minutes. This is perfect for any classroom setting.
For those users who choose the inexpensive price of 99 dollars per year, there are many academic tie-ins with the choices of skills, common core concepts. For example, Montana Jones, Freeze it, Champ, Marathon Math, and Body Jam. For each grade level, there are appropriate grammar, Science, Social Studies, and Math skills intermixed with activities and fun!
Many parents struggle with the home and school transition. Go Noodle provides videos to refocus kids and as a reward when they complete their homework. And for bed, the calming videos help with sleep as well. For all parents, it is a great tool for those kids who can’t get outside and it allows the children and the adults to burn off energy in a fun and challenging way.
Trainers or Group Instructors can use this as part of their routine with children making an account of their own and projecting the activities on either their tablet, Smartphone or computer to add something fun and different to their workout.
Last I really like the features of levels for the comfort of teachers who know what is best for their class whether it is high, low or somewhere in-between. I often use it for character education and do a search for the topic that fits my classroom needs. So try Go Noodle. You’ll be glad you did.
